Environmental alienation and communication
The end of the Second Globe War, which also coincided with the finish of Wonderful Depression marked new shift in globe economy which was marked by elevated production. As the world economies embarked on rebuilding efforts, increased industrial production was necessary for reconstruction efforts. However, there was a wonderful shift in globe economy beginning 1970s with the introduction of consumerism culture. A new consumerism culture was embraced people even lived outside their indicates. For example, in most developed countries like United States, consumerism culture has been credit driven exactly where people have been taking loans to facilitate their consumption. The rise of consumerism culture has come with devastating effects on the environment. Even so, as consumers, there appear to be a communication breakdown which does not inform the customers of the environmental effects of their consumerism culture and hence there is alienation of consumers (Luke, 1997).
Despite the fact that there are various strategies that have been initiated to close gap on this alienation, most of these methods are not working in the appropriate direction and hence buyers feel far more alienated.
